Our History

Aluroll is privately owned and part of a group of construction related businesses with an annual turnover in excess of £15 million.

Aluroll was launched in 2004 with the aim of becoming the UK’s leading supplier of quality aluminium roller garage doors and security shutters products to the trade.

As a direct result of customer feedback, Aluroll expanded its product offering in 2011 to incorporate a comprehensive range of steel shutters under the Steelroll brand. To cope with a continued increase in demand, we relocated our factory & showroom to a state of the art 50,000 square foot facility within our group’s self-contained industrial estate located in Oswestry, Shropshire.

The additional space enabled us to increase production capacity and Aluroll took the opportunity to invest in automated production lines and a powder coating facility to ensure further efficiencies. It has also allowed us to further increase our product range to incorporate rated fire shutters.

Operating through a network of approved distributors and installers, Aluroll has experienced organic growth year on year as a direct result of our commitment to continual improvement and outstanding levels of customer service. We firmly believe we offer the best overall value for money in the market.

OUR QUALITY

ALUMINIUM ROLLER SHUTTER MANUFACTURING FACILITIES:

Aluroll has formed strategic alliances with leading raw material suppliers. Insulated profiles are sourced from Aluprof, Alukon, Alutech & D4. Hydro Aluminium supply the extruded aluminium profiles and associated sections. Our primary motor and control system partners are Somfy, JCM, Ellard & GfA. We systematically review our supply partners to ensure high standards are consistently maintained.

Aluroll is quality assured to ISO 9001 and all products are CE marked. We continually strive to ensure that all products comply with the latest European health, safety and environmental protection legislation.

To maintain a clean working environment the latest extraction technology is installed on all machinery and throughout the factory. All dust and materials collected through extraction are recycled.

Aluroll maintain significant stock levels of roller shutter profiles, supplemented by regular deliveries from control and component suppliers, to ensure manufacturing can start within 24 hours of receiving an order.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS:

Step 1 – Aluroll production lines cut curtain slat profiles to specified lengths utilising semi-automated processes. Guide channels and enclosures are then cut and prepped by our fully trained operators.

Step 2 – If the shutters are required in a specific RAL or BS colour the in-house powder coating facility reduces lead time and increases logistical efficiency. There are over 100 stock colours in our stores at any given time and our suppliers can supply non-standard colours within 24-48 hours.

Curtain slats, guide channels and enclosures are thoroughly prepared in a 3 sequence washer (pre-wash, wash & pre-treatment). The powder is applied via an automated spray booth system and the profiles are finally baked in a 7m oven.

Step 3 – Once the raw materials leave the production line or powder coating area, the shutters are assembled incorporating the specified control system and other order specific items. A thorough inspection and checking system compares the original order, manufacturing cut sheet and final product prior to despatch. Once signed off the product is loaded onto an Aluroll van for delivery.

All orders are handled and tracked by a bespoke end to end integrated office, factory and delivery order management software system – Fentrack.

ALUROLL’S SECURED BY DESIGN LPCB APPROVED ALUMINIUM SECURITY SHUTTERS:

Aluroll has developed a range of high security aluminium security solutions for our clients.

All of our “Secured By Design” products are tested and approved by the LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) to LPS1175 from the base rating SR1 / A1 through to SR5 / E10.

The E130 Elite security shutter has been tested and certified to the latest Issue 8 standard achieving a SR5 / E10 security level. As such, Aluroll’s E130 is the only security shutter in the world approved by the NPSA (National Protective Security Authority) & NaCTSO (National Counter Terrorism Security Office) to protect facilities holding pathogens, toxins & radiological materials.

STEELROLL’S STEEL SECURITY SHUTTERS:

The Steelroll branded range of products under the Aluroll umbrella is a one-stop-shop for trade installers of steel security shutters.

In order to ensure a clean and efficient manufacturing process we ensure that aluminium and steel shutters are manufactured in separate designated locations within the factory. As per our aluminium products, the Steelroll shutters are CE marked, and the steel manufacturing processes are quality assured to ISO9001.

The Fireroll Fire Shutter range has been tested to make sure it can contain a fire within an area of a building for 1, 2 or 4 hours. The addition of an interface panel allows them to be integrated into an alarm system for an automatic response in the event of an emergency.

Fireroll fire shutter have been tested by Warringtonfire to ensure they maintain 1, 2 & 4 hour integrity in the event of a fire.  Fire shutters operate automatically in the event of an alarm signal, providing reliable compartmentalisation and enhancing safety and security. All Fireroll fire shutters hold CE, UKCA & EWCL5 certification and can be fitted to multiple support structures (masonry. concrete and protected structural steelwork).

OUR SERVICE

Aluroll understands the importance of delivering the right product to the right place, at the right time and at the right price. We take full responsibility of all processes from order through manufacture, delivery and beyond to after sales and warranty support. By not relying on third parties at any point in the manufacturing and delivery process, we ensure high quality cost solutions for our trade customers.

Aluroll keeps the sales and order processing procedure as simple as possible. We do not ask clients to complete over-complicated order sheets and have developed a 10 step ordering process for the Secureroll roller garage doors that we plan to extend to all our products. We are conscious that a single inputting error can result in an unhappy customer, so our team talk to each client prior to any order, and confirm the details are correct before processing the order.

With our own fleet of vehicles and drivers, Aluroll offer a flexible delivery service. We aim to deliver anywhere in the UK within 10-15 days of order, and we have often turned around jobs in under 48 hours via our “fastrack” service option. An external 2023 survey, scored Aluroll’s customer service rating at 9.8 out of 10.

ROLLER GARAGE DOORS

Aluroll Roller Garage Doors offer a secure & stylish solution for homeowners.

We offer the highest specification roller doors available in the UK market and all products are made to measure, incorporating high-security guide channels, full roller housings, intelligent safety systems and remote control electric operation with courtesy lights.

Aluroll doors come complete with a manual override facility to be utilised in the event of power failure.

DOMESTIC SECURITY SHUTTERS

M411, M511, T55 & T77 insulated aluminium security shutters are popular in domestic properties as they offer heat and sound insulation properties.

The M411 in particular has the added benefit of vented light slots which allow air floor and light ingress when appropriate.

The non-insulated E37 , V37, & P37 extruded aluminium shutter can be specified in high security domestic applications, where a specific RAL or BS colour is required.

COMMERCIAL SECURITY SHUTTERS

Aluroll’s full range of aluminium and steel security shutters are used in a variety of applications.

The M511 aluminium shutter is typically utilised in lower security window applications or reception counters / kiosks.

The E37 aluminium shutter is the most popular commercial shutter on door and window applications up to circa 12m². Also available with punched (V37) or perforated (P37) slats.

The T55 & T77 shutters are ideal for applications that require a degree of insulation as well as being utilised on lower security warehouse doors or shop fronts (to protect glazing).

The E77, V77, P77 shutters are most commonly used on openings beyond 12m² dependent on budget and application.

The E37, T77, E77, V77 & E130 are all available as an elite level product offering LPCB approved security ratings for higher protection and increased accreditation.

RETAIL SECURITY SHUTTERS

The E77, V77, P77 shutters are most commonly used on openings beyond 12m² dependent on budget and application.

The Tube & Link shutter gives around 75% visibility allowing your stores interior to be seen out of hours, whilst still offering a high level of security.

S76, V76, P76 offers the choice of solid, punched or perforated slats, offering larger openings over the aluminium E77 range.

INDUSTRIAL SECURITY SHUTTERS

For high security industrial solutions, our I95 insulated steel security shutter with optional vision panels is a popular choice. The I95 is an insulated steel security shutter for high security commercial sites requiring large aperture coverage, and improved insulation properties.

Our highest level of security can be found on the E130 range, with products tested up to SR5 / E10 by the LPCB and all are Secured by Design approved.

FIRE SHUTTERS

Fire Shutters are typically utilised for kitchen applications in schools, hospitals, commercial and municipal buildings.

We offer a range of fire rated systems designed to contain fires from

• 60 minutes (FS60),
• 120 minutes (FS120)
• right up to 240 minutes (FS240)

Our 1500 square foot showroom is the largest and most impressive of its kind in the UK. Inside you’ll find fully functioning installations of all available products, complete with the latest control solutions from our partners Somfy, JCM, GfA & Ellard.

Our technical experts have a wealth of industry knowledge to share, and visits can be tailored to your individual requirements.

We are able to assist with training for your team, provide product demonstrations of the latest developments, host Continual Professional Development (CPD) courses, and show how your orders are manufactured with a factory tour.
